Valley Vista’s Fall Craft Show is right around the corner and I am so very excited. Since the spectacular Spring show I have had my eyes peeled for impressive rock specimens and, let me tell you, I will be bringing some of my best for the show this weekend.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw this 10.5 POUND Rose Quartz. It is from here, in Idaho. Look at the size of it! It is massive! It is always awe inspiring to find pieces like this. We truly are the gem state.
This stunning beauty is black labradorite, also known as larvikite. Most larvikite, including this specimen, comes from Larvik, Norway, and has gorgeous feldspar flecks that gleam a stunning blue. It travelled more than 4,000 miles to make it to this craft show.
The sunlight shining through this rainbow fluorite slab really shows off the clarity and translucency. A vibrant streak of purple jets across the more typical pale green. It would make a striking display piece in any collection. Rainbow fluorite’s translucency lends itself well to craft projects and home decor. One of these days I hope to make a sun catcher out of them.
There will be over 50 vendors at the Valley Vista Fall Craft Show. Most of the vendors will have raffle jars out. Each guest will get a raffle ticket on entry that they are free to fill out and put in a jar of their choosing to have a chance at winning the associated prize.
I am very excited to hear the live music and slip down to get my face painted. Hopefully I can get a flower fox done this time! It’s always impressive that face paint can hold up to an entire day of vending… as long as you’re careful.
There will also be hay rides, bounce houses, pony rides, and delicious, delicious food.
